On Thursday, October 29th, the girls and boys of Bonner & Prendie took to Belmont Plateau on a mission, that mission was to conquer District 12 and qualify for state championships.
That mission was accomplished.
In the girls race there were 4 medalists - Sam Gliwa (3rd), Jenna Rastatter (12th), Celsey Golato (14th) and Bridie O'Dea (15th). With the addition of Hannah Oropollo finishing 17th the Bonner & Prendie girls program finished 2nd overall with 48 total points.
Strong races were also had by Cate Lance (18th) and Hannah Bierling (27th).
The 2nd place team race allowed the team to automatically qualify for state championships in Hershey, PA next week!
On the boys end it was pure dominance in the AA race! The boys were heavy favorites over Archbishop Carroll and didn't disappoint!
Lead by Sean Sullivan (district champion), the boys finished 1st overall in the team score! Sean was quickly followed by Dave Whitfield (3rd), Tony Harper (4th), Steve Cromity (6th), and Jack Sullivan (8th) for a total team score of 22 points.
Other strong performances came from Dave Fanelli (22nd) and Isaiah Sulder (27th).
The programs continue to get stronger and we are getting very excited for state championships next week!
